  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 450 g minced beef
  • 2 tbsp Stokes Red Onion Marmalade
  • 1 tbsp Stokes Tomato Ketchup
  • 300 ml beef stock
  • 50 g butter
  • 60 g flour
  • 50 g cheddar cheese, grated
  • 25 g of oats
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs

Fantastic. Who would have thought that adding a simple crumble topping to a savoury mince dish would create such refreshing texture to the meal – what a joy!

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the mince and fry for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix in the Stokes Red Onion Marmalade, Tomato Ketchup and the beef stock.  Season as required. Turn into a shallow oven-proof dish.
  3. In a bowl, rub the butter into the flour, then stir in the cheese, oats and herbs.
  4. Spoon crumble over meat. Bake at 190 degrees for between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
  5. Serve with seasonal greens and mash.
