Start the celebrations early, perhaps with breakfast in bed.
“Crumbs!” Mum will say with a smile, stretch and yawn … “how lovely.”
Wonderfully fruity Stokes EXTRA Jams – extra-special for your special mum.
Then after the croissants, toast and crumpets, Dad will say “Crumbs!!!” when he sees the state of the bed.
Wait ’till she’s downstairs for Dippy Egg Surprise.
Spread the toast with sliced red onion and Stokes Chilli Jam before lining the soldiers up in a neat row – she’ll love it – so different, so tasty.
Grilled Goat’s Cheese & Fig
Here’s a simple something to tickle the special taste buds. Toast a slice or two of ciabatta bread, spread our Fig Relish on it, topped with creamy goats cheese before grilling.
Lunchtime!
Chilli Beans
NEW RECIPE. This is a brand new recipe for the poshest baked beans ever and the best family lunch. Try it – HERE.
The sweet, slight tartness of this relish is brimming with dried figs (60%) and made with cider vinegar and molasses – pairing beautifully with the grilled cheese.
Another sensational morning dish is Shakshuka from North Africa / Middle East. Gently spiced sliced onions, garlic, peppers and tomatoes simmering with eggs poaching in the rich sauce.
Chef, Andy has a lovely version of this Persian beauty, which turns it into a Bloody Mary influenced baked eggs dish – deliciously – HERE.
Later that day…
After a family walk, perhaps a trip to the pub, or Farm Shop, evening approaches and your supper theme draws nigh…
Keep it simple
Steak & Caesar Salad
A quick, slightly clever combination. Basically brush a couple of steaks with Stokes Original BBQ Sauce. This will give it a sweet, smoky finish. Cook them, rest them and slice them.
For the salad, wash and arrange Romaine lettuce leaves with a combination (pre-mixed in a bowl) of Parmasan, croutons, anchovies and Stokes creamy Caesar Dressing spread on top.
You can eat this in front of a film using the lettuce as a Caesar Boat, topped with a slice or three of sweet, smoky steak.
What a day. What a night!!!
… and for something sweet to finish –
