British Cheese. Did you know that we produce more cheese than France and there are over 700 named cheeses made in the UK.

Cheese flavours depend not just on the process used to make them, but also on whether milking has taken place in the morning or evening and how much grass the cows, goats or sheep have been able to eat.

Cheshire Cheese, Delamere Goat from the North West; Elsdon Goat & Nothumberland Gouda from the North East.

Swaledale & Wensleydale from Yorkshire; Capella, Hereford Hops & Lincolnshire Poacher from the Midlands; Rozbert Hard Goats, Suffolk Gold & Walsingham from East Anglia.

Caerphilly, Caws Cerwyn & Gorau Glas from Wales; and Cornish Yarg, Curworthy, Dorset Blue Vinney & Somerset Brie from the rich grasslands of the South West.

Ploughman's Pleasures

Add cold cuts, pork pie, pickles and an apple to your platter and you have a Ploughman’s Lunch – so very British.

Bring your cold cuts back to life with our Sticky Pickle – the sweet, sticky ‘Patron Saint’ of pork pies.

It’s a scrumptiously Sticky Pickle with our own unique blend of vegetables in a sweet and spicy sauce made with molasses and black treacle. Yum!

A sweet Mango Chutney truly fruits with just the right tickle of spice – perfect with delicious Indian cuisine; curries, samosas and bhajis. It’s pretty good with a really mature Cheddar cheese too.

Our Spiced Green Tomato & Apple Chutney is a rich dark chutney made with a special blend of spices, Green Tomatoes and Bramley Apples. Stir a dollop into cream cheese for a tasty sandwich filling or add a spoonful to homemade curries for an aromatic twist.

The sweet jam that encompasses gentle chilli heat in our Chilli Jam makes a wonderful relish in a burger. But stirred into a beefy gravy, it makes Yorkshire Puddings beg for more.

The Great Taste judges commented: ‘Enticing bright red appearance with chunks of peppers visible. It is warming, has a real chilli flavour without being overpowering, with the taste of the peppers coming through. Pleasing contrast between the chilli and the sweetness of the peppers.’

This sweet Fig Relish of ours has a slight tartness, brimming with marinated figs (60%) and, made with cider vinegar and molasses for a great complement to cheese.

Try this – a slice of ciabatta-style bread, fig relish, goat’s cheese and under the grill for a tasty snack.

Turn an ordinary gravy into a rich, sweet sauce to pour over thick slices of roast chicken or plump breasts of duck, just by stirring a spoonful of Fig Relish into the finishing stages of a chicken stock-based gravy.
